Meet Our Farmers
Your Organic Markets is about a healthy and affordable food community. We challenged the typical food supply and value chains by taking control of our own; to make organics more accessable, affordable, authentic cottage, and fresh.
We continue to invest a massive amout of our time and resources sourcing, communicating with and maintaining our unique contact with cottage farmers and small producers, many of which are quite local and some who are exclusive to Your Organic Markets in Brisbane. We really believe in our suppliers because they are doing great things; they are true innovators with the future in mind. All of our suppliers practice holistic farming; either organic, bio-dynamic, permacuture or sustainable low input methods, as well as humane and ethical philosophy. Most of our suppliers are affiliated with a range certified organic or ethical and sustainable groups including these:
- OFC - ORGANIC FOOD CHAIN
- ACO - AUSTRALIAN CERTIFIED ORGANIC
- IFOAM - INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION OF ORGANIC AGRICULTURE MOVEMENTS
- USDA ORGANIC - UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE
- OGA - ORGANIC GROWERS OF AUSTRALIA CERTIFIED
- NASAA - NATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE
- AUS-QUAL - AUS-QUAL
- FRESHCARE - FRESHCARE ON-FARM QUALITY ASSURANCE PROGRAM
- SAFE FOOD QLD - SAFE FOOD PRODUCTION QLD (SFQ)
- DEMETER - BIO DYNAMIC RESEARCH INSTITUTE
- HUMANE CHOICE - TRUE FREE RANGE AND PASTURE-BASED PRODUCTION SYSTEMS
- QLD FREE RANGE - FREE RANGE POULTRY ASSOCIATION OF QUEENSLAND
- CAREFARMED - CAREFARMED LOCALLY GROWN ORGANIC AND BIODYNAMIC FARMING PRINCIPLES
